DMB Games Game Tile System

Created by DMB Games

What is the DMB Game Tile System? The DMB Game Tile System is a Modular system that allows you to build anything from single encounters to sprawling tabletop scenes. The system is designed to be used for any game you want to play from Dungeons & Dragons to Frostgrave, Warhammer and beyond. The Tiles are Fully Modular, with the walls and floor separate from each other so you can create any layout you want to. They are available hand painted, finished, and felted by our studio painters or if you prefer they are available unpainted as well.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

July Update - News about Shipping.. Yes we will be starting shipping again Soon!
almost 4 years ago – Sun, Jul 26, 2020 at 03:32:07 AM

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick update this month.

Shipping

We are hoping to start shipping next month (August.)

I am still very wary about sending large parcels when things are not being signed for, especially overseas where I cannot track them after they leave the UK.

With the current situation around the world though, courier services are not guaranteeing times, and as most couriers are signing for parcels themselves, it makes insurance and tracking a little bit redundant, as almost every parcel is being marked as delivered, and it makes challenging any delivery very difficult.

This is an especially important caveat: Once a Pledge leaves the Workshop and you have been given your tracking number, I can no longer be responsible for the package.

Hopefully, it will not matter, and everyone will receive the parcels that I send, but there are delays with the delivery times and if the parcel is delivered with a courier signature I can’t offer a replacement parcel.

So, I will be starting off shipping slowly with some smaller pledges within the UK and if they arrive safe and sound then I will start sending others that need to go further afield.

I also still have to be careful still and limit my contact with the couriers because I am in the high-risk group and even with a mask and gloves, I am still very vulnerable.

Master of the Dungeon & Large Sets

We are still felting and packaging some of the larger sets, it takes about 2 days to draw out the felt for a Master of the Dungeon set and almost the same amount of time to stick it on, it's amazing how long it takes to peel the backing of 900 pieces of felt and stick them on straight!

If anyone has any questions you can either comment on this update or you can send me a message through Kickstarter or any of the social media things we have, contact me through the website or via email ([email protected])

Thanks

June Update
almost 4 years ago – Sun, Jun 14, 2020 at 05:40:01 AM

Hello everyone, I hope your all keeping well and that you are all safe.

Just a quick update today, as not a lot has changed since the last update. The pile of boxes ready to be sent has grown and we are currently felting the remaining pieces, so we can package up the remaining pledges as last week we managed to get our hands on some felt for the first time in 2 months!

I still haven’t been able to get the Black felt we normally use but instead have had to switch to green felt, but I’m sure it doesn’t really matter that much, just as long as we can felt the pieces!

I am also waiting on a delivery of the storage boxes, everything is slow going with the post office at the moment because of the pandemic, and I am having to leave things in the workshop (aka Garage) for a few days before I touch the boxes just incase.

We are currently not posting any items because of the pandemic and my personal health issues.

Even though we are coming out of lockdown and things are re-opening I still do not feel it is safe for me to be dealing with the general public or people that deal with the general public on a daily basis, at least not face to face.

We haven't found a way to do contactless pickups by courier and I am not confident about going to a post office and posting stuff in person at the moment, and by the nature of thier jobs couriers see and interact with a multitude of people so pick up from the house is not really an option, just yet.

I have had offers from other people to come pick up packages and post them for me, which is something I am looking in to, but the thought of sending packages you guys have been waiting for air a long time, and not having them signed for by the recipient because of the pandemic is not something I’m thrilled about, especially when the cost of the contents of the packages are in the hundreds of pounds range.

I will keep you all updated as much as I can, with what's happening and where we are with sending pledges and the like as we start to come out of the Lockdown more, and work out how we can continue forwards, and get this Kickstarter finished.

Thanks

May Update
almost 4 years ago – Fri, May 08, 2020 at 10:03:16 AM

Hello Everyone,

I hope your all doing well and keeping safe during the pandemic.

I won’t waffle on too much today as there is not a lot of change from my last update, but I wanted to keep you in the loop with what is going on.

Postage

I have not manged to get a contactless pick up of the parcels, as I am in a residential area and do not have an account or any special kind of deal with the couriers.

So I won’t be sending any parcels out until the lockdown is lifted and/or I have completed my 12 week isolation period.

Even then I am in the vulnerable group, and I’m not sure what that means for me in the future, as far as isolating and shielding from the virus is concerned.

I am looking in to it and have a couple of ideas, including getting someone else to do the postage for me, but that can’t happen until the 12 weeks are over.

Progress.

I have a big pile of parcels waiting to go out, but we are running in to some other logistical issues, I cannot have any new felt, storage boxes or spray paint delivered as I am shielding.

I have fixed the Spray paint issue by using my airbrush for the first time, its slower going, and requires a couple of coats of primer on the pieces, but it works and I can use paint I have here already to finish of the painting.

I did try using it before, but rattle cans are quicker, so I opted for those, in the workshop but as I said I cannot get those at the moment.

I can also use the airbrush indoors, so I can “spray” more to make up for time that it takes, to do 2 coats with the airbrush, it does give a really nice finish, better than the rattle cans, so I will probably use it going forwards, but we shall see.

We are still working on the Master of the Dungeon sets, but as I said we have run out of felt and, won’t be getting any more in for a few weeks, possibly a bit longer.

Ill update again once I have a more information for you on postage and getting the supplies, we need to finish the project.

Thanks

February/March Update
about 4 years ago – Tue, Mar 24, 2020 at 06:15:30 AM

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your patience while waiting for an update from me on this project, I have been busy in the workshop and trying to keep safe and healthy in the current environment. I will be making updates as and when I can, especially when some of the things explained later on in this update are resolved.

I have been working to finish everything off, and we are very nearly there. I have a big pile of parcels waiting to go out, and I am just working out the best way to send them with the current health crisis that is going on.

I am unfortunately in one of the highest risk groups for the COVID-19 virus because of the underlying health issues leftover from when I was in the hospital and it's recommended that I self isolate for a minimum of 12 weeks.

I think I have a solution, and I'm just waiting to hear back from the courier company to make sure that its acceptable, it involves me not having to have any contact with the delivery driver at all, and to leave the parcels in a safe place for them to be collected.

I am worried that if I post parcels at the moment they will get lost, or there will be more issues with deliveries as all postal services have suspended the need for a signature, understandably to keep the social distancing to keep everyone safe.

I am also aware that you have all been waiting long enough for your tiles, and don't want to delay any more if I don't have to, but obviously don't want to have to recast and paint pledges if they are lost.

As soon as I hear back from the courier about setting up the non-contact pick up I'll get this batch of pledges out to everyone, and we will deal with lost parcels if there any when and if they happen.

Also as of Last night, here in the UK we have been told to stay home and only leave the house for essential reasons, and all shops are to close, so although I don't expect this to have any more of an effect on the delivery of the tiles than the measures already in place, It just something to keep in mind.

I have still to paint 6 Master of the dungeon sets, which means we are almost halfway through the MOD sets, they are taking a bit longer to do than I first thought but its the inking and the felting that's taking up the time (as always) and as you can see in the pictures below its a huge job.

Tiles drying on the inking racks for MOD sets. There are 16 A4 sized Racks on the table, and the 6x4 table top is also full of tiles, as well!

I will update you again when I know what's happening with the collection of the parcels and with more pictures of finished tiles when I can.

January Kickstarter Update
over 4 years ago – Mon, Jan 27, 2020 at 02:00:34 AM

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a good Holiday season and a good new year so far.

I don’t want to waffle on too much, so I’ll just jump straight into it.

I am behind sending everything out because I made a bit of an error. I didn’t take in to account the lack of availability of other places and people over the Christmas period, especially when it comes to having to order in materials needed to complete the pledges.

I couldn’t get hold of some of the bits I needed to finish off the sets and get them out by the end of December, Namely Storage boxes and Felt.

I also couldn’t get spray paint or packaging material here either, which has all now turned up and is being used, or in the case of the spray paint all used up, with more on its way for the master of the dungeon sets.

Obviously this put me behind, which I have spent the past couple of weeks catching up on, it takes on average about 4 hours to draw, cut out and stick the felt on the bottom of a core set, which is all done by hand.

All European orders have been sent so if you haven’t received your package by the end of next week please let me know, and ill chase them.

I have some more packages to send out Monday and Tuesday this week, and another than a handful (4 large orders) which I have to finish felting and packaging up to send out by the end of the week as well. Everything that needs painting for the non master of the dungeon sets is done, its just the felting and the packaging that is left and all of those will be finished,

I have started to paint The Master of the Dungeon pledges and although I am a bit behind, once I have finished sending out the other orders, I will continue on with them.

Once I have finished with these I will re-asses the Master of the Dungeon Time line, which I think will just mean a couple of the February ones will roll over to the start of March, but I will where we are in a couple of weeks.

I know this is not necessarily what everyone wants to hear, its not the update I wanted to give, but Its where we are, and I want to be as transparent as I can.

Ill do another update as soon as all the non master of the dungeon sets are shipped, and when the first of the Master of the Dungeon sets are going out the door.

We are so very close to everything being sent, so please bear with me.

Thanks
