DMB Games Game Tile System

Created by DMB Games

What is the DMB Game Tile System? The DMB Game Tile System is a Modular system that allows you to build anything from single encounters to sprawling tabletop scenes. The system is designed to be used for any game you want to play from Dungeons & Dragons to Frostgrave, Warhammer and beyond. The Tiles are Fully Modular, with the walls and floor separate from each other so you can create any layout you want to. They are available hand painted, finished, and felted by our studio painters or if you prefer they are available unpainted as well.

over 4 years ago – Sun, Jan 19, 2020 at 04:16:09 PM

Hi Guys,

An in-depth full update will be posted next week letting everyone know what’s going on.

Sorry I have been quiet over the past couple of weeks but I have really been cracking on with the outstanding orders and the Master of the Dungeon sets.

Everything is going fine, some small delays due to material shortages over Christmas but I’ll go in to more details in the in-depth update next week.

Thanks

Seasons Greetings
over 4 years ago – Wed, Dec 25, 2019 at 11:32:20 AM

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to take a few moments out of my Christmas Day to send everyone a message to wish you all Seasons Greetings and a Very Happy New Year.

Thank you all for your support and understanding over what has been a very hard year for me, both Physically and Mentally.

I am having a couple of days break over Christmas and Boxing Day but I’ll be back at it on the 27th, to get the last few done before new year creeps up on us!

A lot of pledges went out last week and there is still a stack of stuff to go out between Christmas and the new year, I have a pile of inking and a pile of felting to do, but hopefully they should all be sent before the new year.

Hope the season brings you joy and happiness to you and yours,

Andy @ DMB

Hi everyone,

Sorry for lack of communication over the past week or so, I have been ill with the flu, and I am just starting to catch up with everything so if you have sent a message, comment or email I the past week then I’ll get to answering them This week, in between working on the outstanding pledges.

Thanks

Octobers Update
over 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 31, 2019 at 03:23:42 AM

Hello everyone,

I am sure you all read the last update so ill just dive straight in to where we are with the pledges.

European Pledges

Other than 1 Master of the Dungeon set and an order that required some clear resin work, all the European pledges have been sent, and ill be sending out the Tracking numbers in the next day or so. Sorry I haven’t sent them out yet, but I wanted to get all the pledges out before the end of the month and the dreaded Brexit deadline (which typically has now been extended.)

Other Pledges

I will now start working on the other pledges that are left, this is what we have left to send:

Non-Master of the Dungeon Pledges:

Europe: 1  This will be sent in the next couple of days.

UK: 16

Americas: 17

Rest of World: 1

Master of the Dungeon Sets:

We have 11 left – One of these is the European one that I have already mentioned above.

Every Pledge that is still to send is cast, and All pieces are undercoated. Most of the sets have some of their pieces painted, including the fiddly pieces like accessories and Decorative tiles.

What’s next?

The next step is to finish the rest of the pledges.

I will be finishing those that are easiest to finish first, so that's the stuff that I have sitting here that need just a few pieces left to paint, for example those that have Large Pillar Sets, or Small Pillar Sets, and Double doors, which are the ones holding back a lot of the pledges at the moment.

This should allow me to send 10 – 12 pledges in the next month.

Once again, it’s my time that’s holding things up, and the number of tiles that I’m not only able to paint but have drying or curing at anyone time, due to space.

For example when I ink and varnish the tiles, I use cake drying racks so I can stack them up, but I only have so many of those and so much table space to lay them out on, and that take 24-48 hours to dry fully so I can then felt and matt varnish the pieces to remove the shine the ink & varnish leaves on the tiles.

I am aiming to get all the non-master of the dungeon sets finished and into your hands before Christmas.

What does this mean for the Master of the Dungeon Sets.

The Master of the Dungeon sets take up 4 of the double depth boxes and are a huge amount of work to get finished. The one for the European order has taken me nearly 3 weeks to finish, and I am not quite there yet.

I am working as hard as I can to get these finished, but based on what we have left to do, I am, looking to get all the Remaining Master of the Dungeon Sets finished and Out to everyone by 31st May 2020.

This date will be just shy of 2 years since the original date we set when we launched the Kickstarter (as it was June 2018 that we originally said.) although we changed that when we saw how much work there would be to do, I understand that Is the date on the pledge rewards for the Kickstarter, so that’s the date most people are measuring us by

I understand this will not be good news for some of you who are understandably upset about not having received your tiles yet, but unfortunately looking at things realistically, that is a date I can actually hit, and not one I hope to hit.

I will be fulfilling them in the order that they were pledged for and have set preliminary timelines for myself as targets to hit for each wave.

Wave 1 - February 2020 – 4 Pledges

Wave 2 - March 2020 – 5 Pledges

Wave 3 - May 2020 – 1 Pledges

These dates are not set in stone, and I am hoping to get the sets done before these dates but its when you can expect them to start shipping out to you all.

What’s next for DMB Games?

As you all know I have decided to stop producing the tiles from December this year, so that I can finish everything that I have left to do without the pressure of having to complete new orders form the website as all of the Master of the Dungeon sets that I have left, will take the majority of my time for the first part of the year.

I want to ensure that everybody gets the tiles they have pledged and paid for, before I decide what I am going to be doing going forward, I need to be concentrating on getting your pledges finished before anything else and I just cant do that if I am worried about running the business day to day and also fulfilling orders from the website.

We will continue to sell unpainted accessories through the website, and once all the Kickstarter Pledges are done any remaining stock will be available to buy as well, although what that will be, I can’t say for sure right now.

I think I would still like to make the tiles in some form or another in the future but what format that will take I cant say right now, possibly limited run sets, possibly commission only, possibly just accessories and special tiles, but until I am satisfied that I have honoured all of my outstanding commitments, a very large part of those being your Kickstarter pledges, I can’t look to any of that right now.

As always thanks for your patience and understanding as I push forward to finish the Kickstarter and get your pledges out to you.

Ill do another update in November updating you all with where I am with the outstanding pledges. Once those are done the updates will switch to concentrating on the master of the dungeon sets left and where I am with completing those and how the shipping is progressing when they start to ship.

Here are some pictures of the tiles that have been painted and the current state of my lounge which has boxes and tiles piled up in it as I try to finish pledges and send them out to you.

Pledge Boxes piled up and ready to be double checked against packing lists, and some unpainted tiles ready for spraying.
Base Coated Fieldstone Floor Tiles.
This is a mix of small and large pillars being cleaned up for spraying.
Painted Candles from DA II
Painted Reward Set Treasure Piles
Painted Scrolls from DA II
Painted Books and Book Piles from DAII
Painted Reinforced and Wooden Doors from the Door Set

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments, and I will do my best to answer them as quickly as I can, I have found that Kickstarter hasn’t been sending me notifications on my Phone and I don’t have a computer in the workshop so if it takes me a little while to reply to your comments or questions please forgive me, I probably haven’t seen that you have left one and I will try and do a better job of checking the Comments on my laptop at the end of each day.

Thanks

The Future of DMB Games
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 08, 2019 at 02:43:16 AM

This is not an Update on the progress of the Kickstarter, but it does relate to it, I will be posting the October Kickstarter update in the next week, outlining a revised time line and more info on fulfilling the end of the Kickstarter.

This message has been posted on the Blog over on our website and our social media pages.

Thanks

Andy @ DMB

Hello Everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post, I have decided to close DMB Games at the end of the year.

The truth is I have been struggling for a while now with getting orders complete, the Kickstarter finished and attending shows with all the logistics, stock and effort that is involved with shows.

I am making myself ill again, through long hours, little sleep and stress, and I don’t want to end up going through what I went through last year.

There is simply to much work for me to do on my own and not enough regular income to employ someone to help.

I will be fulfilling all the orders we currently have, as well as finishing the Kickstarter so that everyone who is owed something will get it, no one will miss out, please let me stress that again, no one will miss out on anything that they have currently ordered.

It won’t be the last you see of me though, I will still be popping up and be around, and I will still be producing gaming content.

I’ll be concentrating on publishing our Board game Rosebyrne Manor and look to work on some RPG material as well as other gaming projects, but the Dungeon tiles will no longer be produced, as a product you can buy from the website.

Once the dust settles and I have gotten over the current backlog of outstanding tiles I will look at taking custom orders for those of you who already have the tiles, if I am able to., as well as limited edition and custom pieces that I may sell as one off items, although that is not set in stone.

The Kickstarter was much much more than I ever imagined and while I am grateful that so many people thought the product was good enough to back, it has broken me, and right now I never want to see another tile, or pick up a paint brush again.

As I said I will complete every order that I have, and any that I get before the end of the year, should any one wish to order something before I stop producing the tiles (it might just take me a little while to do so) but the Website will go off line in the first week of December, although I will probably re-purpose it for Rosebyrne Manor and any other new bits that I produce.

Just to re-iterate again, I will be fulfilling everything we currently have as an order, and finishing the Kickstarter pledges, no one is going to miss out on anything that they are owed.

Thank you all for the support, understand and patience, you have shown and continue to show me, it’s very humbling that so many of you believe in me and DMB Games, and I’m sorry it must end.

Thanks

Andy @ DMB
