DMB Games Game Tile System

Created by DMB Games

What is the DMB Game Tile System? The DMB Game Tile System is a Modular system that allows you to build anything from single encounters to sprawling tabletop scenes. The system is designed to be used for any game you want to play from Dungeons & Dragons to Frostgrave, Warhammer and beyond. The Tiles are Fully Modular, with the walls and floor separate from each other so you can create any layout you want to. They are available hand painted, finished, and felted by our studio painters or if you prefer they are available unpainted as well.

January Fulfillment Update
over 5 years ago – Thu, Jan 31, 2019 at 07:16:38 AM

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all keeping well!

This month we have smashed our way through 32 Pledges, and we have pile of 12 more that need inking and felting so that we can send them out as well.

This is over half of the outstanding Pledges we have and includes all Unpainted (except for 2 orders going to the States that I wasn’t happy with the casting on, but for which I filled the Customs invoices out for today, so they will go in the next couple of days.) All Accessory, and all Core Set only Pledges.

We have also managed to send a few of the larger orders out, depending upon what we had cast that we could get painted quickly, and that where basic Gothic Grey or Old School Dungeon Paint Schemes.

For our over sea pledges, especially those going to Australia, South America, Canada and the USA, our processing of your pledges is taking us a bit longer to do because of all the Customs documents, that need to be filled out, and we ant to make sure that we do everything correctly on out end so there is little to no delay when the tiles make it across the ocean to you.

We have 20 pledges that need to be painted and inked and sealed, and we are waiting on a new delivery of our Black Storage boxes, because we use the boxes made from recycled material, sometimes our supplier runs out of the boxes, and we have to wait for more to be made, we also ran our normal supplier out of felt so I had to source another supplier of that which took me a few days.

We have a few more bits to cast, mostly for the Master of the Dungeon Sets, but that’s just Core Floor and wall pieces, which we are doing for each set individually to make sure that we get the right amount an no large order is missing anything.

I know I originally said end of January is what we where aiming for to get the Kickstarter, but with me still recovering from being in hospital it has taken a bit longer than I thought.

Still we have made massive headway this month and it won’t be long before everyone has their tiles in hand.

More updates to come in the next week or so, and as always keep an eye on our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook page for pictures and updates as we progress through the pledges and new pieces that will be available on the website soon.

Thanks

Happy New Year Everyone & January's Update
over 5 years ago – Sun, Jan 06, 2019 at 11:55:01 PM

Happy New Year Everyone!

Today's Update is going to be long and wordy, but I’ll do my best not to ramble to much.

First of all, thank you everyone who has sent me get well wishes and have sent me messages inquiring how I am.

I spent 3 weeks in hospital before Christmas was home for Christmas and then had to go back to the hospital between Christmas and new year as the blood infection decided to stick around to see 2019!

Fortunately, now I have been discharged from hospital and I’m no longer on antibiotics, so everything is going in the right direction as far as that’s concerned. I have been given instructions not to over do it, and slowly ease back in to things while I finish my recovery, and I intend to do that, but I also intend to get as much of the KS pledges done as I can.

What are you doing about the Outstanding Kickstarter Pledges & what’s the Plan going forward?

We are at the end of the first week of January and I wanted to share with you my plan for completing the KS and a rough time line that assumes I’m able to do these things without tiring myself out, so although I have given extra time, It may still not have been enough, with that Caveat said, here is the current state of play.

Currently I have someone helping me with production and painting, my lovely assistant Jason, who has been helping me move things in to my house from the workshop as its to cold for me to sit out there at the moment and work, especially while I recover.

Jason has also been beavering away making extra molds so we can cast things like the Fieldstone sets, and the accessory sets we need to finish off a lot of the orders as quickly as possible, as you can see from these pictures he has been a busy boy, and as he had a few bits and some silicone left over he’s even managed to sneak in a few new bits!

Extra Kickstarter Molds to aid production and a few Sneaky new pieces!

Want to see something cool? It’s the Sepulchre

Before we get in to the nitty gritty of where we are with the KS pledges and the plan to proceed, I thought you might like to see some pictures of the finished Sepulchre, they have been taken on my work table and they are probably not the best pictures but I am very excited to show it to you.

Where are we and what’s happening with the Pledges.

This weekend we sorted 40 pledges that needed Door sets, or Accessory Sets, or some of the bits we got from the caster before Christmas, like the Large Decorative Wall Sets so we can finish of those bits and get the orders out, none of those 40 orders are missing more than two or three pieces.

Big Stack of orders awaiting final parts, there is another stack like it just out of shot to the Right...
Big Stack of orders awaiting final parts, there is another stack like it just out of shot to the Right...

To take some of the pressure of me, Jason will be helping me with the full production process from casting through to felting and finishing, as well as packaging the KS Pledges to go out, so with the two of us working on these 40 orders, we should be able to get them done in 2-3 weeks.

The orders we still have to process after these are very straight forward, Core Set or Core sets & one or two extra bits so they should be very easy to finish, and we will be filtering these in to the production process after we have cleared some of the 40 orders mentioned above.

I have 10 orders (mostly small orders or unpainted ones) that need felting & or packaging and sending out which I will be doing this week.

Before you all start asking if your order is being sent, or when is your order going to be finished, please don’t.

It’s not because I don’t want to tell you, it’s because if I have to keep stopping what I am doing to respond to messages, and check and see if your order is ready, or what needs doing to your order that 2-3 weeks is going to slip in to 4-5 weeks or beyond and that just gets everyone frustrated.

Obviously if you have questions or concerns over anything, I’m happy to speak to you and ill do my best to answer any questions you do have, but if we could keep the “is my order ready yet” or “When is my order being sent” questions to a minimum it would be most appreciated.

When your pledge is ready to be picked up by the Royal Mail Courier, you will receive an email notification from BackerKit to say that your Pledge is ready to send, you’ll then receive an email to the email address you used on Kickstarter from [email protected] to say your Pledge is on its way.  The email from us will contain tracking information for your package.

Assuming everything goes to plan, and there are no major hiccups, then every Pledge except the Master of the Dungeon Pledges, will be ready to send by the end of the 1st week of February.

The reason the Master of the Dungeon Sets are going to be delayed is because of the number of core set pieces in each one, and now that I am casting everything, it takes time to cast those pieces, which is why we have made new molds for some of the more common pieces like walls and doors etc.

Its not as bad as it may seem for the Master of the dungeon sets because everything else you are getting (apart from core set pieces) is already in place, and a majority of the Pillar sets, decorative wall sets etc, are already painted.

The plan for those pledges is for me to cast everything and Jason to Paint them, so that we can get them out as quickly as possible.

I do also have some other people who have volunteered weekends and evenings to help me undercoat or base coat tiles to help speed things along as well, so it wont just be poor Jason painting all the tiles!

So whats next? How do we know whats going on?

As we progress through the next few weeks I will be posting more regular updates and will be letting you know where we are with sending orders out and the general state of play on the Kickstarter so everyone knows what is happening.

I have included some pictures below of some of the things we have been doing, tiles in various states of paint just to show we are progressing, and there is movement on the project despite everything that’s happened over the past few weeks.

Thank you again for all your patience and understanding, and we will get these tiles out to you as quickly as we can, I am excited to start hearing what you think of them and seeing pictures of you using them in your games!

As always feel free to follow us on social media for snapshots and updates as well as other bits and pieces we are doing as well.

Thanks

Quick Update
over 5 years ago – Thu, Dec 27, 2018 at 11:09:37 PM

Hello Everyone

I plan on doing a full update in the new year, with a full plan on what’s going on and where we are.

I am sorry for the lack of communication but but I only got out of hospital on the 23rd and I’m still recovering at home and I’m still on heavy doses of antibiotics, it’s going to take quite a while until I am back on my feet.

I am working on a plan to get everything sorted, I have a lot of people, painters, casters, and a 2 or 3 people who can help with postage and packing, so it’s just a matter of putting a plan together and making sure the right people are doing the right bits to get the Pledges out.

Once I have spoken to everyone who has offered to help and worked out exactly who is doing what then I’ll do a full update, with more details.

I hope you all had a good Christmas and wish you all a very happy new year.

Little Update.
over 5 years ago – Tue, Dec 11, 2018 at 11:57:36 PM

Hello Everyone,

Hope you are all doing well as this update reaches you.

I am still in hospital which is the reason that there hasn’t been an update until now.

The doctor prescribed me a 7 day course of antibiotics (which I have just had the last one of today) but my right leg is still vey painful and swollen, so we are now trying to find the right pain management course so that I can rest comfortably at home. Which would be much more preferable than being here!

This means we still don’t have a date for me being released back in to the wilds, so I don’t have a date when I can post parcels.

I didn’t want to do this but I think the only sensible call is to say that I won’t be posting anything else now until after christmas.

I really wanted to be out of here by now but it’s just not happening. I’m really sorry but there is nothing I can do about it.

I’ll update you all when I know more.
